1. Create an account and start with Tasks
Sign up with your email address. New accounts are provisioned with a Tasks list and a Starter reward pack containing the caption ‘Nice work!’. The first pack is made the default so lists without their own pack have somewhere to draw a reward.
The Starter is a small first win, not a finished image collection. You can keep using it, add your own images and captions, or save a community pack later. An existing account may have different packs if you have changed or deleted them.
2. Capture something you actually need to do
Type a short action in the capture box, such as ‘review five biology questions tomorrow 4pm’. With AI parsing enabled, Gumhop extracts the title and schedule. Check the result and edit anything it misunderstood; plain-English parsing is a shortcut, not a guarantee that every date will be interpreted correctly.
Start with a task you can finish in one sitting. ‘Open the draft and write the first paragraph’ gives you a clear finish. ‘Sort out my entire semester’ is better kept as a project with smaller tasks or subtasks.
3. Finish the task and discover the reward
Check off the task when the work is done. A task with an eligible reward pack draws one card, and that pull goes into your Collection in Rewards. A caption-only pack produces a gift card. Image packs can produce Common, Shiny, Holographic or Legendary finishes when Special pulls are enabled.
Each task rewards once. Reopening and completing the same task does not earn another pull. If you see no reward, check that rewards are enabled and that the task’s list has an active pack with items, or a default pack covering it.
4. Choose what makes finishing feel worthwhile
In Rewards, open Packs. Add a few images, GIFs or captions to a pack, then assign it to the list you use. Set a default pack to cover lists without a specific assignment. For a ready-made option, open Marketplace, preview a listing and save a copy to your packs.
Before relying on a saved pack, check its list assignments in Rewards → Packs. Saving a marketplace pack copies the content; it does not choose which of your lists should use it.
5. Return with a small plan
Choose a few next actions for tomorrow and give dates only to the ones that need them. Use Today to review scheduled work. Add recurring tasks once you know which actions really repeat; keep the rest as ordinary tasks.
Gumhop’s rewards are digital collectibles and cosmetic finishes. They are not cash, gift vouchers or a way to earn money. The useful outcome is the task you completed; the card is a small celebration afterward.
