Terms of Service

Effective June 13, 2026

By creating an account or using Gumhop, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. The service

Gumhop is a task-capture and rewards productivity app. It lets you capture tasks in plain language (which may be parsed by AI into structured details), organize them into lists and folders, receive a daily brief and reminders by email and/or push, and earn small in-app rewards for finishing tasks. Features may change, improve, or be removed over time.

2. Your account

  • You must provide a valid email and keep your login credentials secure.
  • You're responsible for all activity under your account and for any API keys you generate. Keep API keys secret; treat them like passwords.
  • You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your country) to use Gumhop.
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Gumhop for anything illegal, harmful, or infringing.
  • Upload or store content (including reward images) that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, or violates others' rights.
  • Attempt to break, overload, probe, or circumvent the service's security, rate limits, or access controls, or access data that isn't yours.
  • Abuse the AI parsing or API features (for example, automated scraping, excessive requests, or attempts to extract our prompts or other users' data).
  • Resell or redistribute the service without our permission.

We may suspend or limit accounts that violate these rules or threaten the service or other users.

4. Your content

  • You own your content. Tasks, lists, notes, and reward media you create remain yours.
  • You grant us a limited license to store, process, transmit, and display your content solely to operate the service for you — including sending task text to our AI provider for parsing (when enabled) and delivering content in emails and notifications you've turned on.
  • You're responsible for the content you add and for having the rights to any media you upload.
  • Reward media you upload may be served from a storage bucket via a public URL — don't upload anything you need to keep strictly private.

5. AI features

Gumhop uses AI to parse natural-language tasks. AI output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Don't rely on it for anything critical without checking it yourself. You can disable AI parsing in Settings.

6. Third-party services

Gumhop relies on third-party providers for infrastructure, AI parsing, email delivery, hosting, and browser push notifications to function. Your use of Gumhop is also subject to those providers' availability and terms. We're not responsible for outages or actions of third-party services beyond our control.

7. Service provided "as is"

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. Gumhop is an independent product and may experience downtime, bugs, data delays, or feature changes. Keep your own copies of anything important.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, LOST PROFITS, OR MISSED TASKS/REMINDERS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you. (Gumhop currently has no paid plans.)

9. Intellectual property

The Gumhop name, brand, logo, design, and software are owned by us and protected by applicable laws. These terms don't grant you any right to our branding or code except to use the service as intended. Your content remains yours (Section 4).

10. Termination

You may stop using Gumhop and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how deletion works). We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, misuse the service, or if we discontinue it. Sections that by their nature should survive (content ownership, liability limits, IP) will survive.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Gumhop evolves. We'll update the effective date and, for material changes, make a reasonable effort to notify you. Continuing to use Gumhop after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the maker's home jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
